An outstanding tennis player for the college from 1939-1942. During the 1940 season, he produced one of the best single-season records in Loyola tennis history, compiling a 24-2 mark in both singles and doubles play. He led the Greyhounds to the Maryland State championship that same year. While an undergraduate at Loyola, he also won three citywide championships in off-season competition. He was the news editor of the Loyola Greyhound, editor of the Evergreen yearbook and Evergreen quarterly and the president of the debating society. He was elected to Alpha Sigma Nu and graduate with Summa Cum Laude status. After earning four varsity letters at Loyola, he continued to play competitive tennis for many years and earned several prestigious tennis championships.
