An All-America lacrosse player and four-year starter in both lacrosse and field hockey, Tucker was a key part of Loyola's rise to national prominence in lacrosse as both a coach and a player. The recipient of the Ernest Lagna Award following her senior year and a two-time winner of the ROTC Leadership Award, she was a defensive standout for lacrosse teams that won three conference championships and were ranked in the nation's Top 10 all four years. A Towson native and graduate of Loch Raven High School, she was also a two-time team Most Valuable Player in field hockey. After graduation, Tucker was an assistant lacrosse coach under Diane Aikens at Loyola for four seasons, helping the team to the 1990 national semifinals.
