John Stewart was the first three-time All-American at Loyola. He earned second-team national honors as a midfielder in 1962 and 1963, then switched to attack in 1964 and was a third-team choice. At the time of his induction, Loyola had produced only one other three-time All-American in any sport since Stewart graduated in `64 (Wayne McPartland - lacrosse 1985--87).

Stewart scored 72 goals and added 49 assists during his illustrious four-year career. He led the 1963 and 1964 teams in scoring, and was one of the national leaders during his senior season.

After graduation, Stewart applied his superior playing skills as the highly successful coach of the Loyola High School lacrosse program during the 1960's and 1970's.
