Jim excelled at Basketball and Tennis. At the time of his induction he ranked number one in Loyola's All-Time Scorer list with 2,199 points in basketball (an average of 17.9 per game). He was named to the All Mason-Dixon Teams four years in a row. He was honored in Denver for the Catholic All-Tournament squad. During his senior campaign in 1949, his tennis record was 21-1. Jim majored in business administration at Loyola after attending Loyola High School. He was a navy man during World War II. Jim is considered "Loyola's greatest athlete and gentleman."
