NEW YORK –
Jamie Adams continued her outstanding freshman season on Saturday, running the second-fastest 200-meter time in school history as the Loyola University Maryland track and field team wrapped up its weekend of competition at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory in the Scarlet Knights Open.
Adams crossed the line in 24.63 seconds to finish seventh, just over a tenth of a second behind her school record in the event. She now holds the four fastest times in school history.
Abby Potticary led four Loyola women in the 3,000 meters, running 10:36.29 to finish 27
th.
Lauren Riddle was just behind in 29
th (10:44.49), and she was followed by
Kylie Maddalena (35
th, 10:57.93) and
Sammie Spargo (41
st, 11:04.70).
The 4x400-meter relay of
Ajia Morrison,
Meghan Leonard, Adams and
Olivia Malley was sixth in 3:55.73; the Greyhounds' other entry –
Ainsley Jodlbauer,
Caroline O'Connell,
Carly Spinnler and
Melanie Torales – took 16
th in 4:10.79.
Rachel Arwood was the Greyhounds lone entrant in the 800 meters, taking 52
nd in 2:28.94, while
Madelyn Ricard was also solo in the 60 meters, running 8.08 seconds.
Six other Loyola women ran in the 200 meters:
