Kozer Earns Second Patriot League Rookie Of The Week Honor
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland's Ashley Kozer was named the Patriot League Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Monday after averaging 10.4 assists in the last two Greyhounds matches.
Kozer, who also earned the award on September 18, finished he week with 73 assists across seven sets while also contributing 19 digs, nine kills and a .286 hitting percentage.
On Tuesday at Lafayette College, Kozer set the first game and then played both as a setter and right-side in the final three. She finished the match with 34 assists, nine digs and six kills while hitting .333 in four sets.
The freshman from Norton, Ohio, then had her best collegiate game as a six-rotation setter against College of the Holy Cross on Friday night. She posted 39 assists in just three sets and directed the Greyhounds to a .344 hitting percentage. Kozer recorded a double-double, her ninth of the year, with 10 digs against the Crusaders.
Loyola's .344 hitting percentage was its best since the 2013 season and its second-best since joining the Patriot League that season.
Kozer and the Greyhounds are back in action on Tuesday night when they host reigning Patriot League champion American University at 7 o'clock in Reitz Arena.
