The Greyhounds:

• Loyola sits 4-5 overall in the 2017 season.
• The Greyhounds were downed by UNCW, 3-0, Davidson, 3-0, and Appalachian State, 3-1, in the Springhill Suites Mayfaire Invitational.
• Loyola lost in a close match to La Salle, 3-2, but defeated Akron, 3-1, and Tennessee Tech, 3-1, at the Akron Invitational.
• The Greyhounds hosted the Charm City Challenge and finished 2-1. Loyola beat Presbyterian, 3-1, and Morgan State, 3-1, while it fell to UMBC, 3-1.
• Eleven players return from the 2016 roster, including its leaders in kills (Ann Ernst, 326, 3.54/set), blocks (Haley Puddy, 84), blocks per set (Molly Jarvis, 0.81), assists (Molly Werts, 389) and digs (Erin Cunningham, 241, 4.08).
• Loyola welcomed five freshmen for the 2017 season.

Scouting the Bald Eagles:
• The Bald Eagles are 0-10 overall in the 2017 season.
• Head coach, Tim Walsh, is in his inaugural season with the team.
• Eight members return for Coppin State, including senior Glorines Rosado who led the roster in digs with an average of 3.75 per game, and sophomore Dominique Madarang who led in assists averaging 7.03 per game.
• The Bald Eagles added one freshman to the lineup.
• Coppin State fell 3-0 to Radford, Marist, Lehigh, Duquesne, Robert Morris, UMBC, University at Buffalo, Georgetown, and JMU.
• The team took the first set from Canisius, but lost 3-1.

Charm City Challenge at a Glance:
• Loyola hosted a tournament on Sept. 8-9.
• The team finished 2-1 with victories against Presbyterian College, 3-1, and Morgan State, 3-1.
• The Greyhounds fell short to UMBC, 3-1.
• Sophomore Ann Ernst led the team with 45 kills (3.75 k/s), and she managed two double-doubles on the weekend.
• Junior Molly Werts earned the highest amount of assists with 78 in the tournament.
• Loyola had its first, first set win of the season against UMBC.
• Ernst and Elena Scarano were named to the all-tournament team.
