Loyola's women's volleyball team has been picked to finish sixth by league coaches in the official 2007 Preseason Coaches Poll. The Greyhounds, who finished sixth at the 2006 MAAC Championships, picked up 50 points in the poll, while Fairfield was picked to win with 99 total points.
The Stags earned nine first place votes in the poll and Siena was right behind with 91 points. Manhattan was picked third with 71 points, Canisius took fourth place in the poll with 61 points, followed by fifth place Marist College (58). The Greyhounds garnered 50 points, while Iona College (45), Saint Peter's College (31), Rider University (26) and Niagara University (18) finished in spots seven thru 10.
Loyola was 7-11 in the MAAC last season and returns its entire lineup for 2007. The Greyhounds open the season on August 24 at the NCCU Tournament in Durham, N.C.
