BALTIMORE - Loyola head volleyball coach Jake Lawrence has announced the Greyhounds’ 2013 spring schedule. Loyola will compete on four dates throughout March and April, including hosting one tournament at Reitz Arena on April 6.
The Greyhounds’ home tournament will be open to the public and feature eight teams; American, Coppin State, George Mason, George Washington, Howard, Morgan State, Navy and UMBC. Start times and match-ups to be determined.
“I’m excited about our competitive spring schedule this year,” Lawrence said. “Our team has already been working hard through individuals and we’re looking to have the same improvement in 2013 that we did in 2012. The veterans are focused on getting better and I’m already seeing certain players really step up on-and-off the court.
“In addition, we have the opportunity to play several Patriot League schools this spring. It’s going to be great preparation as we will compete for a Patriot League title this fall.”
Loyola will open the spring on March 23 when it travels to Lehigh to face the Leopards, Fairleigh Dickinson, Fordham and Villanova. Following the home date, the Greyhounds will head to UMBC on April 14, before closing out the spring at Delaware, where they will face LaSalle, George Washington, Morgan State and UMBC, in addition to the host Blue Hens.
