The Greyhounds finished the season 14-20 and 8-10 in the conference.
Loyola was the sixth seed going into the Metro Atlantic Conference Championships in Kissimmee, Fla.
The Greyhounds lost to Canisius in the first round, 3-1, and lost to Marist, 3-1.
Senior outside hitter Nina Camaioni was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, named to the All-Academic Team and was a member of the All-MAAC First Team.
She was selected ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team and the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District II First Team.
Camaioni finished league play averaging 3.18 digs per set. She finished the year with 485 kills, 38 serving aces, 373 digs and a total of 34 blocks. Camaioni had a total of 1,701 digs in four years at Loyola and recorded 107 serving aces.
Camaioni leaves Loyola with three school records.
On October 17, she broke Becky Corb's record of 1,629 kills, set between 2002-2005. She also holds the school's single-match digs record with 36 in 2007. Last season, she set the single-season kills record with 539.
Brittney Born leads Loyola holding the single season digs record set in 2009 of 626 and she holds the school record in career digs with 2,042.
Aubrey Kirven is only 1,364 assists away from breaking Kim Colavito's record of 3,762 assists from 1990-1993.
Started the season 1-2 at the Toledo Rocket Classic. The Greyhounds defeated Binghamton.
Then Loyola went 3-1 at the Battle of Baltimore at UMBC and Morgan State with only losing to Towson.
The Greyhounds defeated Delaware State at the JMU Days Inn Invitational.
Opened up conference 0-4 before defeating Siena at home.
The Greyhounds defeated Siena, Saint Peter's and Rider both at Reitz Arena and on the road.
Loyola had a big win at Reitz Arena as they sweep Canisius, 3-0. Which is the game Camaioni broke the career kills record.
After that win, the Greyhounds went 4-0 in the conference before losing a couple on the road.
After Camaioni broke that record and the Greyhounds defeated Canisius Nina Camaioni was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Saying Goodbye, But Having High Hopes
The Greyhounds are only losing two seniors in Nina Camaioni and Brittany Born.
They are returning 13 players as juniors and sophomores.
Loyola will lose no players next season.
Head Coach Scott Pennewill finished his third season with an overall record of 37-63 and 22-32 in the MAAC.
He is assisted by first year assistant coach Ashley Preston and Rich Zwolinski who is in his third season.
