Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College volleyball team fought back from a two game deficit to defeat Marist College in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Reitz Arena Sunday evening by a score of three games to two. The `Hounds improve to 5-15 on the season and are even at 3-3 in MAAC play while the Red Foxes fall to 4-11 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
Games one and two were close with Marist winning both, 30-28 and 30-25. Loyola took game three 30-28. In game four the Greyhounds recorded a game-high 20 kills with a hitting percentage of .279 to win 30-28. They hit well in game five, .267 to get the win 16-14.
The Loyola attack was led by senior Blair Snyder's 22 kills. She was followed by sophomore Rachel Schillinger's career-high 17 kills. Freshmen Karlee Woodward and Nicole Scimeme rounded out the `Hounds in double-figures with 15 and 11 respectively. Junior Kim Burton added seven kills.
Four `Hounds also registered double-figures in digs led by a career-high 35 from freshman libero Kimi Gabriel. Scimeme and freshman Chrissey Cruz added 12 while Snyder tallied 11.
Cruz also dished out a career-high 63 assists.
Woodward led on the block with a solo and seven assists while Burton added six assists.
For Marist, Sally Hanson led the attack with 27 kills and a .553 hitting percentage. Jamie Kenworthy added 14 kills while Christy Lukes recorded 10.

The Greyhounds return to the road this weekend, visiting Saint Peter's on Saturday, October 7 for a 2:00 start.
