CATONSVILLE, Md. - After falling 25-15 in the first set Saturday to NJIT, the Loyola University Maryland volleyball team rallied to win the second set, 24-26, before falling to the Highlanders I the final two, 26-24, 25-22.

NJIT went ahead by six, 10-4, in the fourth set and later by five, 13-8, before a Kelly McShea kill on a dump sparked a five-point run by Loyola, tying the set at 13-13 on a Jac Bullock kill.

The Greyhounds then went up a point, 14-13, on Micah Duzey's service ace, but the Highlanders tied it up again with a sideout off a Loyola serving miscue, and they went up 15-14 when off an attack error.

Bullock tied the set a final time at 15-15 with a kill, but NJIT sided out with a Fran Edmondson kill, the first of four-straight points that would give it the lead for good.

Three Greyhounds finished with 11 or more kills, led by Bullock's match-high 17. Jane Lukas had a career-best 12 kills, and Mindy Maloney added 11. McShea had a career-high 41 assists.

Duzey posted 19 digs, while Bullock set a career-best with 14. Lukas had 11 and McShea 10.

Loyola finished with nine total blocks in the match, led by Maloney's six and McShea's career-high five. Emma Falk had four and Bullock three.

The Greyhounds wrapped up competition in the Maddie Bingaman Memorial Tournament with the loss. They travel to Tucson, Ariz., next weekend for the Wildcat Classic at the University of Arizona.
