PITTSBURGH - For the second day in a row, junior Faye Lukas recorded a career-high in kills in the Greyhounds second match, but on Saturday afternoon, it was not enough as Loyola University Maryland fell in three sets to Bucknell University, 20-25, 28-26, 25-13, 25-18, in the teams' final game of the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational.

Lukas finished with 20 kills, improving on her previous best of 19 set Friday night in a win over Providence College.

Jac Bullock had her fourth double-digit kills outing of the tournament, finishing with 13 against the Bison. She had 58 in the four matches that Loyola (4-4 overall) split, and Lukas posted a team-best 62.

Lauren Andersen had 42 assists in the match and finished with 171 in the tournament, while Lauren Arnold led the team with 11 digs.

Loyola opened the match by turning a tight first set - Bucknell pulled within a point, 20-19, on a Jessica Serrato kill - into a 25-20 win by scoring six of the last seven points. Bullock had a kill and an ace during the run, while Nicole Sarby added one of her season-high seven kills to two Bison attack errors.

The second set was even closer, as nether Loyola, nor Bucknell (4-2) led by more than three points at any juncture in the frame that was tied 11 timed.

Loyola had the first set point opportunity after a Lukas kill put the Greyhounds up, 25-24, but Bucknell scored two in a row on a Serrato kill and a Karen Campbell ace.

With the Bison up, 26-25, however, Campbell serve went off the mark, and the score knotted again. Bucknell, though, closed the set with two final points before pulling away for easier set wins in the third and fourth.

Loyola will be off for the week until it hosts Rider University, Morgan State University and Charleston Southern University, on Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8, in Reitz Arena at the Marriott Greyhound Classic.
