Loyola volleyball played Manhattan at the UMES Fall Fling on September 11, 2015.


Loyola Volleyball vs. Howard

Loyola hosted Howard on September 9, 2014.

2015 (Sophomore): Played in 26 matches, making two starts, and 59 sets… Posted 63 digs, an average of 1.07 per set… Had seven digs in the season-opener against UMBC (8/29)… Posted a season-best nine digs at High Point (9/4)… Had two aces against South Carolina State (9/5).

2014 (Freshman): Played in 24 matches and 64 sets during her first season at Loyola... Started six matches... Finished with 84 digs, 1.31 per set... Also had four service aces... Made her Loyola debut against Dartmouth (9/6) and had a pair of digs... Posted six digs against Lehigh (9/25) and had a season-best nine three days later against Lafayette (9/28)... Followed that match with eight digs at Holy Cross (10/3)... Matched her season-high with nine against Navy (10/24) and then had eight at Lehigh (10/31).

Before Loyola: Earned four letters in both volleyball and softball at Westfield (New Jersey) High School... Helped the Blue Devils finish as the Union County runners-up in both 2012 and 2013... Earned All-Union County First Team honors and All-Area First Team recognition as a senior... Was the team's captain and an All-New Jersey Third Team honoree... Named the Newark Star-Ledger Player of the Week in October 2013... Played club volleyball for Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club and was the team's captain from 2012-2014... Was a standout softball player, as well, earning Union County Player of the Year honors as a pitcher in 2013.

Personal: Elena Christine Scarano... Daughter of Lisa and Mark Scarano... Has one younger sister, Leigh... Member of Westfield's Honor and Distinguished Honor Rolls... Winner of the Teens for the Cure Award from the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
