Cynammon Burns has joined the Loyola University Maryland volleyball coaching staff for the 2011 season. She comes to the program after serving as a club head coach in her native Dallas.

A four-year student-athlete at American University, Burns was a libero for the Eagles from 2006-2009. She helped American reach the NCAA Championships following the 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons. The Eagles reached the Patriot League Championship Game each of her four seasons in Washington, D.C., and Burns earned Patriot League All-Tournament Team laurels in 2007.

Burns recorded 661 digs during her career, an average of 2.12 per set. During her senior season in 2009, she had career-bests of 300 digs and 18 service aces. She tallied 15 or more digs on six occasions, setting a career-high with 22 against Army.
