Track & Field Team Posts Top-15 GPA Nationally

NEW ORLEANS – Loyola University Maryland’s women’s track and field team posted the No. 14 grade-point average in NCAA Division I for the 2017 season, earning All-Academic Team honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Greyhounds’ cumulative GPA of 3.551 is highest amongst schools in the Patriot League and 14th nationally for women’s teams. Loyola’s women’s team, led by Head Coach Amy Horst, had the nation’s highest GPA for schools without a men’s program. The program’s 3.551 GPA is tops among Loyola’s athletic teams, as well.

Twenty-eight Loyola women’s track and field student-athletes earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recognition, and Christa Sidoti was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team.

Four members of the team – Erin Gamble, Claire Scavone, Sidoti and Molly Smith – had perfect 4.0 GPAs during the spring semester.
