Duo Joins Track & Field Coaching Staff

BALTIMORE, Md. - Erick Camodeca and Sandra Gallagher-Mohler have been named assistant track and field coaches at Loyola University Maryland, Head Coach Amy Horst announced today.
"The skills that Erick and Sandra bring together are extremely powerful," Horst said. "The two coaches will be very helpful with what we are trying to develop as we enter the Patriot League."
Camodeca joins the Loyola staff from York College, where he served for five years as the head coach of the NCAA Division III track and field program.
"Erick has a wealth of experience in our sport and brings the ability to understand the big picture of our program," Horst said. "He has a passion to challenge the student-athletes in their athletic development. The excellent rapport that he has demonstrated with student-athletes will make him a great member of our team."
The 2010 and 2011 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men's Track and Field Coach of the Year, Camodeca coached three All-Americans and six national qualifiers in hurdles, jumps, and distance. The Pottsville, Pa., native guided the Spartans to 25 CAC showings, including eight conference titles.
Camodeca was also an assistant football coach at York County School of Technology from 2008-2011, and orior to his work at York, he was a graduate assistant at Goucher College for the cross country and track and field programs.
Camodeca graduated from Goucher College, where he captained the track and field team,. He also soccer during his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Gallagher-Mohler returns to her alma mater, after spending the last 10 years in the professional sector as an entrepreneur and high school coach.
"Sandra brings a variety of coaching experience to the team," said Horst. "In addition, she has significant experience working with young adults in their development academically and athletically. Sandra's dynamic personality will motivate our athletes and recruits, and I'm looking forward to her playing a critical role in the continued development of our program. "
Most recently, Gallagher-Mohler coached the track and field and cross country program at Catonsville High School, where she also worked as a behavior interventionist. In addition to working with the students, she has experience guiding post-collegiate runners through her personal business, IRunTons.
As an entrepreneur, Gallagher-Mohler helps clients develop goals and personalized training programs to better the physical and emotional status of each runner.
Gallagher-Mohler graduated from Loyola in 2003 with a bachelor of arts in psychology. She holds a level one certification in USA track and field.
