Former Track Assistant Reaches Olympic Finals In 5k

LONDON - Former Loyola University Maryland women's track & field assistant coach Julie Culley reached the finals of the 5,000-meter run at the London 2012 Olympics on Tuesday morning.

Culley ran a personal-best time of 15:05.38 to finish fifth in her qualifying heat to earn an automatic spot in Friday's final. She will be joined by fellow American Molly Huddle, who also finished fifth in her heat.

Culley's race will be shown at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Check your local listings.

Culley will run in the finals on Friday, Aug. 10, at 3:05 p.m. ET.
