Track & Field Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

Noreen Petrash posted the highest Greyhound female student-athlete GPA this year.

NEW ORLEANS - The Loyola University Maryland women's track & field team was named a Division I All-Academic Track & Field team as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The USTFCCCA announced that 187 Division I teams earned All-Academic status as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better.

The Greyhounds finished with a team GPA of 3.38 through the spring 2013 semester. Loyola was one of four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schools to receive the honor, including Iona College, Manhattan College, and Rider University.

For the second consecutive season, Arkansas was named the Indoor Track & Field Scholar Team of the Year, while UCF earned Outdoor Track & Field Scholar Team of the Year. Wofford held the top cumulative GPA of the spring season, setting the bar at 3.61.
