EUGENE, Ore. -
Former Loyola University Maryland head track & field coach, Julie Culley, qualified for the 2012 London Olympics after winning the 5,000-meter run at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Thursday night at Hayward Field.
Culley, who was the program's first head coach from 2004-2006, used a strong kick to turn in a personal best of 15:13.77, edging out Molly Huddle and Kim Conley, who also qualified for the Olympics.
She will begin competition in London on July 27.
