Women's Track Shatters Relay Record At ECAC Meet

May 15, 2017 PRINCETON, N.J. – Competing at the weather-delayed ECAC Championship Meet at Weaver Stadium on the campus of Princeton University, the Loyola University Maryland track team set a school record in the 4x400-relay on Sunday afternoon.

Heather Merrifield, Molly Smith, Molly Johnson and Jordan Vine combined to lead the Greyhounds to a 12th-place finish while setting a record with a time of 3:50.78. Their performance broke the school record they set last week at the Patriot League Championships.

Loyola finished sixth at the Patriot League meet with a time of 3:51.05.

Cordelia McGinn, who was the Patriot League runner-up in the 800-meter run, challenged her school record in the event at the ECAC Meet. She finished 10th with a time of 2:09.38, a mark just shy of the record (2:08.98) she established last week.

The Greyhounds' 4x800-relay team turned in the second-best time in program history at 9:22.06. MaryEllen Woods, Kayleigh Caggiano, Gabrielle Silvestri and Audrey O'Neill finished 16th in the ECAC Meet.
