Cocco Earns MAAC Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors

EDISON, N.J. - Sophomore Gabrielle Cocco was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Cocco, a sophomore from Allentown, Pa., broke a seven-year old school record in the 3,000 at the Penn Relays on Thursday night. She ran an ECAC-qualifying time of 9:49.03, finishing 14th overall and breaking the previous record by just over three seconds.
Cocco and the Greyhounds next compete at the MAAC Track & Field Championships on May 5-6 on the campus of Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J.
