Women's Track & Field Heads To Penn Relays, Lions Invite

The Loyola University Maryland women’s track & field team will take part in two meets this week, including the prestigious Penn Relays beginning on Tuesday, along with the Lions Invitational on Saturday.
The Greyhounds will send two individuals and two relay teams to the 2012 Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. Courtney Willeford will get the action started for Loyola, as she competes in the heptathlon beginning on Tuesday.
Also competing individual will be sophomore Gabrielle Cocco, who will compete in the 3,000m on Thursday evening.
Head coach Amy Horst will also be competing at the Penn Relays, as she will run the 400 leg of the distance medley relay at 7:20 p.m. on Friday night.
Kelly Maguire, Emily Doucette, Cocco and Jackie D’Antonio round out the competing Greyhounds on Saturday in the 4x800-meter relay. The foursome set their sights on an ECAC-qualifying time after strong performances at the Loyola/Hopkins Invitational.
The Greyhounds also will take part in the Lions Invitational, hosted by The College of New Jersey on Saturday in Ewing, N.J.
