Rovegno Runs Well At NCAA Regionals
May 30, 2005
Randalls Island, N.Y. - Loyola sophomore Andrea Rovegno ran a 5,000-meter time of 17:00 at the NCAA East Regional Meet this past weekend to wrap up her season, which included a 5,000-meter Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Outdoor Track and Field title.
The first Greyhound track runner to ever qualify for the NCAA Regionals, Rovegno got off to a quick start as she ran through the one-mile split at 5:10 and battled the rest of the way en route to one of her best times of the year.
"Andrea had an unbelievable season," said Loyola Head Coach Julie Culley. "As far as this race goes, not only was it a great accomplishment to qualify, but it was an excellent learning experience for her in what has already been an extremely successful running career."
