Princeton, N.J. - Running in the final race of her decorated collegiate cross country and track career, Loyola senior Jackie Truncellito broke her own 10,000-meter school record with a personal best time of 37:05.51 to finish in 15th place at the ECAC Championships held at Princeton University this past weekend.

The 2002 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) individual cross country champion and a key cog in Loyola's 2003 MAAC cross country team championship, Truncellito ended her career with a stellar showing at her inaugural ECAC meet.

"We are so happy that Jackie ended her Greyhound career with a career-best performance," said Loyola Head Coach Julie Culley. "She is an outstanding individual and will be incredibly missed next year. We thank her for all of her leadership and dedication to the development of this program."

Greyhound sophomore Andrea Rovegno also turned in a nice performance at ECAC's as she finished 16th in the 1,500-meter run with her new school record and personal best time of 4:33.30. Rovegno missed the ECAC final by just three seconds.

Two-sport star sophomore Carolyn Kennington took 21st in the javelin throw with a toss of 37.49 meters. The All-MAAC soccer player joined the Greyhound track and field squad for the outdoor season for a second straight year and recorded her second best throw of the season in her first ECAC appearance.

"I am really proud of the efforts by Jackie, Andrea, and Carolyn," said Culley. "This was [Loyola's] first trip to an outdoor ECAC Championship and I think having three girls qualify and compete is a great achievement."

Rovegno will be competing in the 1,500-meter run at the NCAA regional championships at Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island in New York City on May 27th.
