Track & Field Concludes At Penn Relays, Lions Invitational

The Loyola University Maryland women's track & field team concluded a busy week on Saturday, finishing competition at both the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., and the Lions Invitational in Ewing, N.J.
The final leg of competition at the Penn Relays for the Greyhounds was the 4x800-meter relay, where Kelly Maguire, Emily Doucette, Gabrielle Cocco and Jackie D'Antonio finished in a time of 9:32.50 to finish in 21st.
Greyhound head coach Amy Horst also competed at the Penn Relays, running the 400-meter leg of the distance medley relay, helping her team finish in first overall.
The rest of the Greyhound team was at the Lions Invitational, hosted by The College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J.
Loyola had 11 personal-bests set at the meet in the team's final tune-up before the MAAC Championships next weekend.
Jacqueline Porter had the highest individual finish for the Greyhounds, taking fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.82.
Three Greyhounds set PRs in the 1,500-meter run, led by Jessica Peters who took 29th in 5:08.16. Rachel Nerenberg and Jennifer Zahn also had personal bests to place 55th and 56th, respectively, while Mary DeGregorio finished 45th in 5:16.06.
Buccellato ran a personal-best time of 1:02.27 in the 400 to lead the Greyhounds in 11th place, with Bahneman also running a PR of 1:03.76 to finish 16th.
In the field events, Kelly Hilbert led the Greyhounds by finishing 15th in the long jump, notching a career-best mark of 4.54 meters. Calire Okrongly also had a PR in the long jump of 4.52 meters to place 16th.
The Greyhounds are next at the MAAC Championships hosted by Rider in Lawrenceville, N.J., on May 5 and 6.
