Women's Track Opens Program History With Dominant Performance At Goucher Invitational

TOWSON, MD - Loyola freshman Andrea Rovegno won the 1500 and 5000 meter races in leading the Greyhound women's track team to a victory at Saturday's Goucher Invitational, the first meet in the history of the Loyola women's varsity track program.
Rovegno won the 1500 with her time of 4:53 and then edged teammate Jackie Truncellito in the 5000 with her time of 18:28.91. Truncellito took second with a time of 18:38.14.
Truncellito, the 2002 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Cross Country Champion, took gold in the 3000 meter steeplechase, while Rose Lattyak (200 meter dash), Bridget Scanlon (400 meter dash), Jasmin Connor (triple-jump), and Carolyn Kennington (javelin throw) were the other individual winners for the Greyhounds.
