LEWISBURG, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland women's track team opened competition at the 2018 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.

Ariana Santo Pietro led the Greyhounds in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, running a personal-best time of 8.01 seconds to finish 21st overall with the No. 2 time in school history. Rhoda Miller ran 8.07 to take 23rd, tying her for the fifth-best time in Loyola history with a personal-best, as well.

Kathleen Shepherd was 17th in the 60-meter hurdles, running 9.38, while Bre Mucius was 19th in 9.60. Shepherd also finished 14th in the long jump with a leap of 17'0.75" (5.20m)

Molly Johnson was Loyola's top finisher in the 200 meters, running 26.60 to take 27th. Rachel Koller was 29th in 26.922, while Santo Pietro was a spot behind in 26.927.

The 4x800-meter relay team finished with a would-be school-record time of 9:08.84 - a finish that was more than 10 seconds better than the previous best - but the Greyhounds were disqualified after being ruled to have interfered in the exchange zone.

The meet continues on Sunday starting at 12 p.m.
