Harrison And Peters Finish Up Competition From The Armory Invite

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Loyola University Maryland women’s track and field upperclassmen Jessica Peters and Kiera Harrison highlighted the second day of events from the Armory College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Peters, a veteran distance runner, competed in the 5,000m event, finishing 26th with a time of 18:58.31. Her teammate Harrison ran the 3,000m in a personal-best time of 9:59.01. Her time was just outside the ECAC qualifying standard, less than one second from hitting the mark.

The Loyola finished up the first day of events at the Armory Collegiate Invitational, highlighted by the sprints and distance medley relay.
“I’m really proud that all our pieces are coming together,” Head Coach Amy Horst said. “Things are going in the right direction for us and we’re excited for the races tomorrow.”
Freshman Crystal Godette set a personal record in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 26.31.
Sophomore Eileen Pastyrnak and freshman Isabela Ugarte both ran the 60m sprints, finishing 8.33 and 8.70, respectively. Claire Scavone was the final individual competitor of the day, running the 400m in 1:01.31.
The night finished off with the DMR, as Sarah Askine, Jeanine Gill, Charlotte Criqui and Kiera Harrison finished in 12:16.37.
“I’m quite proud of the DMR tonight,” Horst said. “It’s a brand new group competing together and the women were spectacular at handling it.”
