Women's Tennis Rolls On Day Two At Towson 4+1 Tournament

Towson, Md. - Loyola's young women's tennis squad earned early-season wins over Washington College at the Towson 4+1 Tournament on Saturday afternoon. Three Greyhounds earned their first college singles wins with straight set victories.

Caitlyn Day started the day off with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Carrie Palmer. Stephanie Dunn followed with a 6-1, 6-3 and Lauren Cassle won 6-4, 6-4 to give all three ladies their first college win.

Kerri Swan, who won on Friday, defeated Erika Kayukawa (Washington College) 6-0, 6-1 in the early match as Loyola took that contest, 4-1.

In the evening session, Day defeated Alex Lacoste of George Mason in straight sets while Cassle won at No. 3 singles and Swan won her third match in two days, winning 6-3, 6-2 as the Greyhounds defeat GMU by a 3-2 score.

The Greyhounds will compete at the Eastern Collegiate Tournament at West Point, N.Y. next Friday-Sunday.
