Tennis Sweeps St. Peter's In Jersey City

Jersey City, N.J. - The Loyola women's tennis team swept St. Peter's College, 7-0, while the men's team also defeated the Peacocks, scoring a 6-1 victory on Sunday afternoon in Jersey City, N.J.
Loyola's women won all of the doubles matches against St. Peter's, as both the No. 2 team of Amy Nitch & Jessica Liberatore and the No. 3 team of Gina Turturiello & Claire Najour won their contests, 8-0. Nitch, Liberatore, and Najour also tallied points for the Hounds in the No.'s 4, 5 & 6 singles matches, each winning 6-0, 6-0.
On the men's side, the duo of Adam Wessinger and Bill Horne earned one of two doubles points for Loyola, by defeating St. Peter's No. 3 team, 8-1. The Greyhounds also prevailed in 5-of-6 singles matches, as Wessinger and Horne again registered victories for the Loyola.
The women advanced their overall record to 11-4, and the men moved their record to 9-7 on the season. Both teams return to action on Wednesday March, 31 at 3:30, when the Greyhounds will host visiting Lafayette.
