ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Just one day after sweeping Saint Francis (Pa.) on the road, Loyola women's tennis was handed its first head-to-head loss of the season Sunday afternoon, as the Greyhounds fell 6-1 to Navy in Annapolis.

Sophomore Judy Lite had the best day for the Greyhounds, giving Loyola it's only win for the day in No. 6 singles. Lite also notched a victory in No. 3 doubles with partner Scarlet Hoy.

Navy clinched the doubles point to earn a 1-0 advantage with wins in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

In No. 1 doubles, Rachel Janasek and Kerri Swan fell to Emani Decquir and Dye Das 8-1. Britney Boucher and Stefanie Ton secured the doubles point with an 8-2 win over Joy Johnson and Andie Keyser-Baker.

In singles action, Janasek dropped her first head-to-head match this season to Decquir, going down 6-2, 6-3. In No. 2 singles, Swan dropped her match to Boucher 6-3, 6-2. Ton then defeated Johnson in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-4.

Keyser-Baker took Das into a second-set tiebreaker in the No. 4 singles match, but the junior was topped 6-4, 7-6 (4).

Hoy then fell to Natalie Houle 6-0, 6-1 before Lite ended the day on a winning note with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Olsen.

The loss moved Loyola to 4-1 on the season, while Navy remains undefeated at 3-0. The Greyhounds will play next on March 10 at Morgan State.
