KANSAS CITY, Kan. -

Two Loyola University Maryland soccer players were named to the 2012 NSCAA University Division Scholar All-America Teams, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Senior women's soccer player Nichole Schiro tabbed third team honors, while junior Stephen Dooley was an honorable mention on the men's team.

Schiro, a senior biology major from Okemos, Mich., will graduate as the program's all-time leader in points (119) and goals (52). The only MAAC player to receive the Offensive Player of the Year award for three-consecutive years, Schiro was also a three-time All-MAAC First Team selection and was a member of the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2009. She has also been honored for her work in the classroom as she was a member of the Capital One Academic All-America First Team and was a nominee for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. The senior forward led in the MAAC this season in goals and points, with eight and 20, respectively.

Dooley, a Preseason All-MAAC Team selection, missed the first seven games of the season due to injury, but returned to score two goals on his first two shots of the season, leading the Greyhounds to a 4-2 win over James Madison - a squad that had previously knocked off No. 1 North Carolina. A business administration major from Portstewart, Northern Ireland, Dooley finished the season ranked fifth in the MAAC with 1.21 points per game on six goals and five assists.  Throughout his career, the junior forward has played in 48 games, starting 46, and has scored 12 goals and has 16 assists for 40 points.

Both Dooley and Schiro received NCAA Division I All-North Atlantic Region Third Team honors at the end of the season.
