Oct. 24, 2012

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - This week, Loyola University Maryland senior Nichole Schiro was also named Offensive Player of the week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference, along with her earlier Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly honor.

The Michigan native had a big weekend against Niagara University, recording her second hat trick of her career.

Schiro scored four of the seven goals posted by the Greyhounds this past weekend.  Her hat trick led Loyola to a 3-0 victory over the Purple Eagles.  Three of Schiro's nine points came from Sunday's game against Canisius where she scored one goal and committed one assist.

This season, Schiro lead the MAAC with 13 goals and 30 points.

The two time MAAC Offensive Player of the Year has received eight weekly honors, her last coming off of a double-overtime win against Saint Joseph's in September 2012.

Schiro will finish up the regular season on the road against Marist College on Friday at 7 p.m. and Siena College Sunday at 1 p.m.
