Men's & Women's Soccer Promotional Schedule
Aug. 6, 2012
BALTIMORE - Exciting and fun promotional events, along with affordable group ticket sales programs geared toward family audiences, highlight the 2012 Loyola University Maryland men's and women's soccer home schedules. The promotions are part of competitive home schedules that include contests against nationally recognized programs such as Cal State Northridge and James Madison, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponents and local rivals such as American, Towson, Howard and Delaware.
The men's schedule features 10 home dates, while the Greyhound women will host nine contests. The women open play at the state-of-the-art 6,000-seat Ridley Athletic Complex August 22 vs. Howard at 7 p.m., and both teams play at home as part of a doubleheader August 31, with the men facing La Salle at 6 p.m. followed by the women's contest vs. Towson at 8 p.m. That doubleheader, along with the men's contest against Cal State Northridge on Sunday, September 2, is part of Loyola Soccer Kickoff Weekend, with kids under the age of 16 receiving free admission to any of the three games if they wear their team soccer jersey or t-shirt.
In addition to the "Kickoff Weekend" promotion, both the men's and women's teams will be hosting several youth days and nights. Again, kids wearing their team jerseys or t-shirts will be admitted free of charge on these dates. Men's youth day and night promotions include the following games: September 8 vs. Qunnipiac (7 p.m.), September 25 vs. American (1 p.m.), September 29 vs. St. Joseph's (1 p.m.) and October 12 vs. Marist (7 p.m.). Women's youth nights are August 22 vs. Howard (7 p.m.), September 7 vs. Delaware (7 p.m.), September 14 vs. La Salle (7 p.m.) and October 19 vs. Niagara (7 p.m.).
In addition to being a youth night, the September 8 men's contest vs. Qunnipiac is Championship Night, featuring a halftime ceremony honoring the 2012 national champion Loyola men's lacrosse team and an opportunity for fans to meet some of the players and coaches and have their picture taken with the championship trophy.
In other men's promotions, the September 22 match vs. James Madison (7 p.m.), an NCAA tournament round of 16 participant last season, is Alumni Night, with anyone wearing Loyola gear receiving half-price admission. For the October 14 game against Siena (1 p.m.), Football Funday will provide any kids 16 and under wearing an NFL or international football (soccer) jersey will be admitted free while accompanying adults will receive half-price admission. October 26 against St. Peter's (7 p.m.) is Fright Night, with all kids in costume admitted free, and October 28 vs. Manhattan (1 p.m.) is Family Funday. All kids accompanied by a paying adult will be admitted free, and activities will include interactive inflatables, face painting, an autograph session with the team and more.
Women's promotions include a beat-Philadelphia-themed Purple Funday for the September 16 1 p.m. match against St. Joseph's. That day the Ravens and Greyhounds both face teams from the City of Brotherly love, so anyone wearing a Ravens jersey or gear will be admitted free, while the most creative beat-Philly-themed signs will be eligible for prizes, including Ravens tickets. Other promotional events for women's games include Alumnae Night (wear Loyola gear to receive half-price admission) September 28 at 7 p.m. vs. Iona, Football Funday (free admission for kids wearing NFL or international football gear with parents getting half-priced tickets) September 30 at 1 p.m. vs. Fairfield and Purple Funday (anyone wearing a Ravens jersey or gear admitted free) October 21 vs. Canisius. Purple Funday will include interactive inflatables, face painting, an autograph session with the team and more.
All seating at the Ridley Athletic complex is general admission. Single-game ticket prices for both men's and women's games are $7 for adults, $5 for students and kids and $3 for groups of 20 or more. Season tickets for one team can be purchased for $30, and a combined season ticket is $50. Youth teams and organizations can raise money by selling discounted Loyola tickets through the Green for Teams fundraising progam and can practice or play at the Ridley Complex, play on the stadium field during halftime of a Loyola game and get postgame autographs by participating in the Ultimate Experience program.
