Women's Soccer Alumna Cooke Drafted By Washington Spirit

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Loyola University Maryland alumna Heather Cooke '10 was drafted Thursday by the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League Supplemental Draft.
Cooke was a three-time All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honoree at center back at Loyola and earned First Team honors as a senior in 2009. As a senior, Cooke helped lead the Greyhounds to the NCAA College Cup while earning NSCAA/adidas All-Northeast Region Second Team laurels.
The native of California, Md., played in 82 games for Loyola and started all 64 of the Greyhounds' contests during her final three seasons at the school. She scored four goals and had three assists in her career.
Since departing Loyola, Cooke has played with the Philippine National Team and was a cast member of MTV's The Real World in 2011.
The Spirit is one of eight teams slated to play in the inaugural season of the NWSL.
