Women's Soccer Tops Off Canisius, 1-0

BALTIMORE, MD - Freshman Carolyn Kennington scored her tenth goal of the season to keep Loyola women's soccer undefeated in conference play in a Halloween Night game at Canisius Friday evening.
The Greyhounds are 9-8-1 overall and 7-0-1 in Metro Atlantic Conference play while the Golden Griffins fall to 1-13-1 and 0-8 in the conference.
Kennington, who leads the Greyhounds in scoring, scored her sixth game-winning goal of the 2003 season on an unassisted goal at 38:51 off a direct kick.
Loyola outshot Canisius 19-2 in Friday's game while Greyhound keeper Erica Niemann did not need to make one save in the shut out. The Golden Griffins split time in goal between Jenna Gage, who made two saves, and Christine Moran who stopped five shots.
Loyola continues to play in Buffalo for the weekend by facing Niagara at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday to wrap up the regular season.
