NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - Loyola College goalkeeper Brittany Henderson made six saves, including one on a Niagara University penalty kick attempt, to preserve a 0-0 tie for the Greyhounds in a road Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match.
After a yellow card was assessed to the Greyhounds (6-5-3 overall, 3-0-2 MAAC), Niagara's Ashley Mandrino took a penalty kick that was saved by Henderson.
The sophomore from Commack, N.Y., also made a save on a header by Brittany Bisnott, the conference's leading scorer, in the second overtime period.
Loyola took 14 shots in regulation, while the Purple Eagles (9-5-1) had 15. The Greyhounds were held without a shot attempt in overtime, and Niagara took three, all in the second extra frame.
The Greyhounds return to Diane Geppi-Aikens Field for their final two home games of the season next weekend. They host Siena College on Friday, October 26, at 4 p.m., then take on Marist College on Sunday, October 28, 2007, at 1 p.m.
