Women's Soccer Rolls Over Texas State, 5-0

San Marcos, Texas - Five Greyhounds scored goals in a resounding 5-0 victory over Texas State Friday night at the Bobcat Soccer Complex. Loyola improves to 2-1 with the win while the 2-1 Bobcats suffered their first loss in their home opener.
Loyola's first goal came five minutes into the game from junior midfielder Ashley Kramer.
Ali Andrzejewski scored the second goal of the game with assists from Kramer and Naomi Daniels.
Carolyn Kennington found the back of the net at 14:57 on the clock for the Greyhounds third goal. Making the score at the half 3-0.
Fifteen minutes into the second period Daniels scored off a penalty kick, giving the Hounds the four point lead.
Two minutes later Leigh Ann Mastrini connected on a cross from Daniels for the game's final goal.
Daniels ended the night with the Loyola lead in scoring with a goal and two assists.
Loyola held a 15-9 advantage in shots. Greyhound keeper Erica Niemann saved the Bobcat's only shot on goal to earn the win.
The Bobcats held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
"They [Loyola] have what we are working towards, they are very good at supporting their shape," said Texas State coach Kat Conner. "I am very glad they came. They are fast and well coached," said Conner.
The Greyhounds will continue their Lone Star State tour by visiting Texas on Sunday, September 5.
