Women's Soccer vs. Monmouth

Loyola hosted Monmouth women's soccer on Aug. 25, 2015.

2017 (Junior): Started 10 games and saw action in 13 for the Greyhounds… Took seven shots… Five of her shots came in three of the Greyhounds’ final four games of the year… Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2016 (Sophomore): Played in 16 games, starting 15 as a sophomore at Loyola… Led the team, and was tied for eighth in the Patriot League, in assists with four… Had an assist against UMBC (8/21) and tallied another a week later against St. John’s (8/28)… Recorded her third of the season in the Greyhounds’ Patriot Leauge opener at Lafayette (9/17)… and had one a game later at Monmouth (9/20)… Earned Corvias Patriot League Midfielder of the Week honors after the wins over Monmouth and Navy (9/24)… Against the Midshipmen, she was tasked with defending Navy midfielder Clare MacAdam, the Midshipmen’s leading scorer with six goals and 16 points entering the match… MacAdam did not score a goal in the Greyhounds’ win.

2015 (Freshman): Played in 12 games, starting three… Had three shots throughout the year… Earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Before Loyola: Led La Salle Academy to the state finals in 2014, scoring 10 goals and recording seven assists... Was named to the All-State First Team for her efforts that same year... Won the Rhode Island Division 1 state title in 2013 and earned all-division honors for her effort... Was unable to play her sophomore year due to injury, but helped the team earn another state title her freshman season, as the Rams ranked 15th in the nation... Played club soccer for Boston Breakers ECNL... Also won three state titles in track, receiving All-America honors in the 1,600m sprint medley relay at the 2012 New Balance Indoor Track Nationals.

Personal: Mia Jeanne Sardella... Daughter of Peter and Elaine Sardella... Has an older brother, Alex, and a younger brother, Steven... Member of the National Honor Society... Plans to major in biology.
