Highlights from the Greyhounds 1-1 draw with UMBC
In its inaugural Patriot League game, the Loyola women's soccer team fell to Holy Cross 1-0 on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Loyola Women's Soccer vs. George Mason
Loyola women's soccer won its 10th MAAC title on November 4, 2012, beating Marist College, 2-1.
The women's soccer team defeated American, 2-1, on September 9.
The Loyola University Maryland women's soccer team tied Towson, 1-1, on Aug. 31.
2012 (Junior): Started in all 22 games, seeing 1969 minutes of action...Earned a spot on the NSCAA All-Northeast Region Third team...Received first-ever MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year award...Made All-MAAC First team...Earned a spot on the All-Tournament team, helping the Greyhounds advance to the NCAA College Cup...Made 12 saves, and had one goal in championship games against Fairfield and Marist...Led league in shutouts and ranked second in saves...Finished second in program history with 12 wins...Ranked first in school history with minutes played...Earned MAAC defensive player of the week honors (10/9)...Led the defense to a 1.14 goals against average...Tallied 106 saves (fifth most in program history), with a .809 percentage...Carded 6.1 shutouts...Made a career-high 12 saves in a 3-1 loss at Michigan State...Named Preseason All-MAAC team.
2011 (Sophomore): Started all 21 games in net for the Greyhounds as a sophomore, going 7-11-0 and finishing with a 2.02 goals-against average... Named to All-MAAC Second Team... Totaled 96 saves on the season, which is tied for the fifth-highest single-season total in Loyola history... Finished with three shutouts... Split the last four games of the season with Danielle Ippolito... Combined with Ippolito for a, 5-0, shutout victory over Niagara in the MAAC semifinals (11/4)... Combined with Danielle Ippolito for a, 1-0, shutout of Saint Peter's (10/30)... Notched a shutout while making seven saves in a double-overtime, 0-0, tie against Fairfield (10/21)... Played 336 regulation minutes without a allowing a goal, stretching from Oct. 14 until Oct. 28. From Sept. 11 until Oct. 1, played 247 straight minutes in net without allowing a goal... Was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 3 after shutting out Rider while making four saves (10/1)... Notched her first career shutout against American (9/21)... Was named to Hokie Invitational All-Tournament team (9/11)... Made a career-high 12 saves in a, 3-0, loss at Virginia Tech, helping to hold Hokies scoreless for the first half (9/11).
2010 (Freshman): Played in six matches, and started three, in goal for the Greyhounds... Saw 363 minutes of action and made 23 saves... Had a 3.22 goals against average... Combined with Danielle Ippolito for two shutouts... Earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors on October 4 after starting against Canisius and Niagara... Did not allow a goal and had a save versus Niagara in 45 minutes of action... Made a career-high 10 saves versus Canisius.
High School: An All-Region, All-District and Washington Post All-Met goalkeeper at Loudon Valley H.S.... Teammate of fellow Greyhound Alex Reed on the McLean Dragons who won Region 1 Premier League Championships in 2007 and 2008, the Virginia State Cup in 2006, 2008 and 2010 and the Las Vegas and PDA College Showcase champions in 2008.
Personal: Dijana Haracic... Daughter of Izet and Anica Haracic... Her father, Izet, played professional soccer in Germany and represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 1994 Olympics as a bobsledder... Her mother, Anica, participated in professional European karate... Has an older sister, Anja.
