PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Loyola senior midfielder Elizabeth Weber was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll yesterday after her performance in the Greyhounds' 15-12 victory at Towson.
Weber scored three goals and had an assist over the then-No. 18 Tigers. She tied the game at 11 with a multiple shot-fake goal with 13:49 left in regulation. Weber also caused two turnovers and had a ground ball and a draw control.
In four games this season, the senior has scored seven goals on 12 shots. The award is the first of Weber's career and third this season for Loyola.
With the victory, Loyola entered the national rankings for the first time since the week of March 21, 2005. The Greyhounds are tied for 18th in the Inside Lacrosse poll and 19th in the WomensLax.com rankings.
The Greyhounds return to action on Sunday, March 15, when they host Davidson at 12 p.m.
