PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore goalkeeper Kerry Stoothoff has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, conference officials announced this afternoon. The honor was bestowed upon Stoothoff after her career night in the Greyhounds victory at UMBC February 23. This is the second straight week Stoothoff has been named to the conference weekly honor roll.

Stoothoff saved a career-high 16 shots in the 7-4 victory against the Retrievers and also cradled a personal-best five ground balls. The Blue Point, N.Y., native made several key saves in the victory as UMBC outshot Loyola, 24-22. The four goals allowed in the 60 minute effort is also a career-best for Stoothoff.

Head Coach Jen Adams commented on Stoothoff's performance after the victory at UMBC: "As a sophomore, I think that having that year under her belt, she's confident and it is exciting to see. She is making big stops. She has really saved us in a lot of these games, and in particular, tonight. I think I can credit her with that game; that win really. A lot of it fell on her shoulders and that is a tough task to ask of a sophomore keeper."

For the season, Stoothoff has played in all 180 minutes in 2010 and leads the BIG EAST with 13.67 saves per game. Her .631 save percentage is also third in the conference.

Stoothoff and the #11/#9 Greyhounds return to action Wednesday, March 3 when they travel to Denver to take on the Pioneers at 3:00 pm.
