March 19, 2014
LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Annie Thomas tallied a career-high eight point and led eight Greyhounds in scoring as the No. 16 Loyola University Maryland women’s lacrosse team earned a 16-5 win over Bucknell at William A. Graham Field Wednesday night.
Thomas finished with a personal-best five goals and three assists for a career-high eight points, while senior Marlee Paton added five points on four goals and one assist. Junior Taryn VanThof tacked on two goals for Loyola (5-4, 2-0 Patriot League), and senior Ali Habicht, juniors Kara Burke and Sydney Thomas, sophomore Maddy Blakeman and freshman Cami Whiteford all contributed one score. Junior Molly Hulseman rounded out the scoring with an assist.

Hulseman then set Thomas up for a fast-break goal at 21:13.
The Bison scored their second goal at 20:30, but the Greyhounds responded by scattering seven goals throughout the remainder of the half, while allowing just one Bucknell goal, to take an 11-3 advantage into halftime. Paton had back-to-back goals in just over two minutes to start the streak, followed by a goal from Sydney Thomas and back-to-back goals from Annie Thomas, putting Loyola up, 9-2 at 5:50. Thomas’ goal at 8:01 marked her 14th career hat trick.
Following a Bison goal at 4:36, Blakeman and Habicht found the back of the net to account for the 11-3 halftime advantage.
Paton completed her 25th career hat trick - and fourth of the year - at the 25-minute mark of the second half before assisting VanThof at 23:43 and sticking a fourth goal into the back of the net, assisted by Whiteford, at 21:03.
Annie Thomas followed it up by notching her career-high fifth goal at 18:59 and Whiteford recorded her first collegiate goal, assisted by Habicht, at 17:09, giving Loyola a 16-3 lead.
