Tara Singleton joins the Greyhounds as a student assistant coach this season after earning four letters as a member of the Loyola defense.
"We are pleased to have Tara return as a student assistant coach," head coach Kerri O'Day said. "As a member of the US National team, she brings a young and energetic voice to practice and she relates well to the players." S singleton, second-team All-America selection, was a two-year starter at Loyola. She was a part of a defensive unit that was ranked No. 1 in the country in the 2003 season and finished ninth in 2004. Over her career, Singleton recorded 89 caused turnovers and 83 groundballs. In 2004, she ranked among the nation's leaders in caused turnovers. At the close of the 2004 season, she was named the team's Most Valuable Player.
Singleton, 22, is currently student teaching to earn a degree in elementary education from Loyola.
