Kate McHarg joins the coaching staff this year as an undergraduate student assistant coach after concluding a fantastic playing career in May.
McHarg finished her Greyhound playing career with 138 goals, good for seventh all-time at Loyola. She played in 65 games between 2004 and 2007, starting 45. In addition to her goals scored, McHarg added 20 assists, 141 draw controls, 109 ground balls and caused 37 turnovers.
She was named the BIG EAST Conference Midfielder of the Year and was a member of the All-BIG EAST First Team in 2006. She also earned All-BIG EAST Second Team laurels as a senior in 2007.
McHarg earned plenty of national recognition, as well. She was tabbed Second Team All-America following both her sophomore and junior seasons.
She scored 60 goals and had 69 total points during her junior campaign, finishing second in NCAA Division I in goals per game and eighth in points per game.
McHarg was also second in the nation in goals per game in 2005 when she scored 58 times.
McHarg, a native of Victoria, Australia, has been a member of the last several Australian National Teams and captained the Australian U-19 Team in 2003.
She will finish her degree in business at Loyola this year.
