Nov. 22, 2013
BALTIMORE - Dalila Eshe, 2006 WNBA draft pick by the Seattle Storm, has been named Loyola University Maryland's Director of Women's Basketball Operations, by Head Coach Joe Logan.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Dalila to our Greyhound family," Logan said. "She is an exceptional role model for our team and brings a wealth of experience to our program."
Eshe played for Carolyn Peck at the University of Florida where she earned All-SEC First Team honors her senior year in 2005-06, averaging 14.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. That same year, she helped the Gators to their first 20-plus win season since Florida went to the NCAA Tournament in 2001.
The Tallahassee, Fla., native played in 116 games, averaging 19.2 minutes during her collegiate career. Eshe totaled 775 points and 561 rebounds for the Gators, and her .802 free throw percentage is ranked third all-time at Florida; she also ranks 12th in career blocks with 58.
After graduating with her Bachelor of Science in psychology, Eshe was the 24th pick of the 2006 WNBA draft. She continued her career overseas, playing eight seasons in Turkey, Russia, Portugal and the Czech Republic, while also playing for the WNBA's Atlanta Dream in 2008.
Most recently, she was selected to play for the USA Select Team, where she was named team captain.
