Prior '09 Guides Pro Team To WBBL Cup
BIRMINGHAM, England - Loyola University Maryland women's basketball alumna Siobhan Prior '09 helped lead the Nottingham Wildcats to the Women's British Basketball League (WBBL) Cup final on Sunday
Prior scored nine points in 31 minutes of action as the Wildcats outlasted the Caledonia Pride, 70-66, in front of a record crowd at Arena Birmingham.
Nottingham will continue its playoff season that culminates with the WBBL Playoffs in May. The Wildcats have won each of the last two WBBL Championships - akin to the league's regular-season title on a 20-game fixture - and they have finished as runners-up in the WBBL Playoffs each of the last three years.
Prior graduated from Loyola in 2009 and has played with her hometown team since. She played in 87 games, and started 50, during her four years at Loyola. During her senior season, she averaged a team-best 12.8 points per game and finished with a 7.6 per game average.
