Katie Sheahin honored for the second week in a row.

Sophomore Katie Sheahin of the Loyola University Maryland women's basketball team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced today. This is the second week in a row Sheahin has been honored.
Sheahin recorded 34 points, 11 steals, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Greyhounds over Rider and Canisius.
On the road against Rider, she had eight rebounds, six steals and 20 points. Sixteen of her points came in the second half of the game. Sheahin shot 80-percent from the free throw line on 4-of-5 shooting and was perfect from the three point line.
At Reitz Arena against Canisius, she had 14 points, five steals and five assist. Sheahin shot 75-percent from the free throw line. She helped the Greyhounds start conference 3-0 for the first time under Head Coach Joe Logan.
So far this season, in 14 games she has had 54 steals. She only had 51 last season. Sheahin also has 70 assists, which is 29 more than her first season as a Greyhounds.
This award is the second of Sheahin's career and the third this season for a Loyola player. The Greyhounds are back in action Friday as the host Fairfield in a double header action. Tip-off set for the women at 4:30 p.m. and the men will follow at 7:00 p.m.
