College Park, Md. - No 22. Maryland outscored Loyola 31-12 in the second half and posted three players in double figures en route to a 77-36 win Tuesday at the Comcast Center. The Terps were led by freshman Laura Harper with 22 points. Loyola falls to 0-3 while Maryland improved to 4-1.

To open the contest, the two squads traded baskets for four minutes for a 6-6 tie after a jumper by Loyola sophomore Meghan Wood. Maryland then went on an 11-point run to claim a 16-6 lead and never look back. The Greyhounds lowered the lead to seven points at 8:56 on a layup by Krystle Harrington before Maryland built a 22 point half time lead at 46-24.

The Terps scored 18 straight points to open the second half for a 62-24 point lead at 13:46. The Greyhounds did not score until 13:28 when Jackie Valderas shot 1-for-2 from the line for a 62-25 score. Loyola hung with the nationally ranked Terps scoring 11 points to Maryland's 13 in the final 13 minutes of play.

Harper led all scorers and was followed by teammates Crystal Langhorne with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kalkia France added 13 points.

Lauren Troupe and Harrington tied the Loyola lead with seven points each.

Loyola begins Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on Friday by traveling to Canisius.
